Hmmm…what can I say about me?

Hmmm…

Well, my name is Alison. Or Red. (Depending on how you know me.) I am a quiet 20 something with a keyboard that won’t shut up. (Hence this blog/ranting platform.)  I love Sci-fi and Fantasy, anything geeky or wacky and weird. I get obsessed about things way too easily and my current obsessions include Dragon Age, Nathan Fillion, Neil Gaimon, Game of Thrones and the over use of Hugh Jackman in the X-Men franchise.

When I’m not yelling at my favourite TV shows (It’s a sign of how good a television show is if it has me yelling at the screen.) or ranting on my blog, I’m either playing video games (badly) or exploring London or reading. Books are one of my main passions in life and I will read anything from Jayne Eyre to The Watchman and back again. As a former English student, I don’t have a favourite book. But I’ve managed to narrow it down to about seven over the years. Though if pushed I’ll say that my favourite is Lord of the Rings. (Insult Tolkien near me at your own risk. Though to be fair, his prose is a bit purple.) As if it’s not obvious my second passion in life is writing. I love it whether it’s writing a short story, blog post or a chapter of my novel. (Which I WILL finish.) It’s like breathing. It’s my goal to become a professional writer though if I fail, I will probably still write. Like I said, I have a keyboard that won’t shut up and characters that won’t let me sleep until I write about them again.

Um, what else? Oh yeah, I tend to live in my own little world 60% of the time and can often be caught day dreaming. I prone to (occasional) bouts of accidental sarcasm and I love cats. (If you didn’t already know that by the amount of cat pictures I use in my posts.) I’m fueled by tea, skittles and the determination to finish my gorram novel so that I can try and get it published.
